Getting to Lesvos

The only airport on the island of Lesvos is Mytilene (MJT)

There are direct flights (approx. 45 mins) to and from Athens several times per day with Olympic airways/Aegean Airlines along with occasional flights between Mytilene and Thessaloniki.


Aegean Airlines offer through flight bookings with the advantage of a through service for checked baggage.

  • Every day from London Heathrow via Athens
  • Friday and Tuesday from Manchester via Athens

Thomas Cook

  • Start early in May from Gatwick and Birmingham direct to Mytilene and return each Saturday during the season.

Other airlines fly to Greece (Athens) from the UK, including Ryan Air, Easy jet, British Airways. Worth checking out whilst ensuring that the connecting flights to Lesvos (Mytilene) are suitable.

British Airways

  • Several flights per day to and from London Heathrow to/from Athens with suitable connecting flights daily to and from Mytilene.

Easy Jet

  • Manchester to Athens every Friday then Athens to Mytilene with Aegean Airlines.  Return flight from Athens to Manchester every Sunday connecting from Mytilene to Athens with Aegean Airlines.
  • London Gatwick to Athens every Friday then Athens to Mytilene with Aegean Airlines as no suitable connection from Athens on the Easy jet Saturday Flight.  Return flight from Athens to London Gatwick connecting from Mytilene to Athens with Aegean Airlines.

 Ryan Air

  • Spring timetable not published at time of writing (10/7/17), however winter times are;
  • London Stanstead to Athens every Saturday with Ryan Air then Athens to Mytilene with Aegean Airlines.
  • Return to Stanstead every Saturday on Ryan Air from Thessaloniki  as no convenient connection to Athens. Connect with Aegean Airlines from Mytilene direct to Thessaloniki.
